Myvatn Nature Baths

The bathing water in the lagoon flows directly from Landsvirkjun's borehole in Bjarnarflag. The water flows through a pipe to a large reservoir and from there it is divided into five pipes that take care of mixing the hot water into the lagoon. The lagoon itself is man-made, the bottom is covered with sand and fine gravel. The water is unique in many ways, but the main characteristic of the water is how rich in mineral and alkaline it is, which makes it great for bathing.
